circumhorizontal arcs photographed by david england, andy cripe, del zane, todd sackmann and brandon rios. this atmospheric phenomenon, otherwise known as a fire rainbow, is created when light from a sun that is at least 58 degrees above the horizon passes through the hexagonal ice crystals that form cirrus clouds which, because of quick cloud formation, have become horizontally aligned. Can you hear the ocean? Originally these Galapagos island animals were illustrated for the awesome non-profit Phylo Games for their Darwin deck of playing cards.

Now they are also available to you as art prints here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/193280227/galapagos-sea-life-art-print-deal?ref=shop_home_active_1

The title of the work is identical to a series of photographs by Huseyin shot in Odessa, showing curtains blowing in the wind. These images inspired an installation of hardened lace curtains, frozen in time and space. The work refers to the gesture of opening the windows to set free the soul of the deceased, as well as the idea of a spirit present in a room, mysteriously lifting the curtains to reveal its presence.

FREE ORIGAMI PAY ONLY SHIPPING

Hi. I’m Karen, and I have psychiatric issues that are slightly alleviated by origami. I tend to give them away or leave them in places since I make them in excess (check my origami tag). I make them constantly as a soothing activity, and I thought it would be nice if other people can benefit from this as well.

If you tell me your preferred colors, if you want birds, flowers, or both, I’ll make some for you and ship it in a small box about as big as a trade paperback book. You only have to pay for shipping. If you’re in the continental US, that should be about five-six dollars give or take. You’re also welcome to donate to me as due to my disability, I cannot hold a regular job, but if you can’t, that’s cool too.

Expect it to take anywhere between a few days to a few months. I have a bit of a life. Thank you for your time.

omg you guys shipping is only like $3-$6

Romain Jacquet-Lagreze (b.1987, France) - Vertical Horizon, Hong Kong (2014)

Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze is a French photographer born in France. He grew up in Paris suburbs until he moved abroad in 2008. Originally dedicated to visual art, his interest in photography started to prevail after his arrival in Hong Kong. Living in the heart of Kowloon since 2009, he directly felt bond to this place unique for its density and vibrancy. His first attempt of recording his new home took the form of the project Vertical Horizon released in 2012 as a photo book. It has been featured in major publications in UK, France, Spain, USA, China and Hong Kong. The photo book has been then reprinted as a second edition in 2014. Romain is currently working on his newer photography projects focused on Hong Kong and the several aspects of its unmatched urban development.
